I have found the Strong Swedish course to be an excellent resource for helping improve my Swedish and would highly recommend it to anyone who has got the hang of basic Swedish grammar and all the usual smalltalk such as ordering food/asking for directions and would like to expand their conversational skills to sound more like a native speaker.
I have lived in Sweden for 3 years but have struggled to get my Swedish past an intermediate level due to a lack of time to attend classes and a lack of interaction with native speakers as many Swedes will default to English after hearing my broken Swedish. This course has helped improve my understanding of how native Swedish speakers converse in a more casual and natural way as opposed to the more formal way you learn in most Swedish language learning books.
In particular, I found the audio recordings for each module very useful to improve my listening skills after reading through the content. Fredrik has an accent and a way of speaking that is very clear and easy to understand. After completing all the modules I am picking up on more colloquial phrases when talking to Swedes that would have previously gone over my head. In addition to this, I found committing to a weekly study schedule has made me more confident when speaking and made it easier to listen to Swedish radio programs and watch Swedish TV without the subtitles.
